Villa Rosa – 11 km južne San Benedetto del Tronto, 26.08. – 02.09.2000
Príroda: Krajina je kopcovitá a poľnohospodársky intenzívne využívaná. Pôda je hlinito-piesčitá, bez kameňov. Morské pláže sú pieskové. Chýbajú lesy, pri cestách sú iba pozostatky agátového porastu. Nie sú tu nepriechodné machiové kríky. Pestuje sa hrozno, zelenina a figy. Je tu málo olivovníkov, pomarančovníkov a citrónovníkov. Všade v parkoch rastu veľké datlové palmy. Prvýkrát som tu jedol zrelé figy, sú málo šťavnaté ale príjemne sladké. More bolo teplé, cca 25°C, v tieni vzduch dosahoval 30°C. V tomto období denne boli na mori vlny vysoké 1 až 1,5 m. Ráno, keď ešte nebol opar bolo vidieť smerom na juhozápad horský masív Gran Sasso d´Italia s jeho najvyššou horou Corno Grande 2912 m.n.m. Podľa pohľadníc sú v zime tieto hory poriadne zasnežené. Celé východne pobrežie Talianska je husto osídlené a po pobreží sa tiahnu turistické centrá a pláže. Pri svojom výlete na neďaleký kopec som videl iba jašterky sicílske ( Podarcis sicula ) a dva vzleky hadov. Nevidel som žiadneho gekona.
Plazy: Podarcis siculus – žili v hojnom počte na pláži v tráve, v parku a okolo ciest. Ich sfarbenie bolo typické pre tento druh. Odchyt je obtiažny pretože majú veľkú únikovu vzdialenosť a ani hlavu si do očka nestrčia. Šanca je iba vo voľnom teréne, kde sa behom veľmi rýchlo unavia.
Podarcis muralis – našiel som ich ojedinele v meste.
